GoW raked in a lot of numbers ever since its release. With this online piracy, official support for the software gets bogged down when you have other options of acquiring games, like downloading. Hardware sales, on the other hand, might get a boost because of the rampant amount of easily accessible games over the net. So you see, there's a negative relationship between the two: one goes down, but the other goes up. Technically, these two should go hand-in-hand when rising in sales.
